In the beginning of this week Microsoft released WSRP (OASIS) Toolkit. It contains two sample implementations of WSRP producer for Sharepoint. External systems (like BEA AquaLogic Portal, IBM WebSphere Portal, SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal etc.) can render data from Sharepoint through their WSRP consumer portlets. The toolkit is available for download from MSDN

This tool looks very useful and I think it has great potential in the cases when SharePoint is used as data storage.
