Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) Toolkit for MOSS 2007
In the beginning of this week Microsoft released WSRP (OASIS) Toolkit. It contains two sample implementations of WSRP producer for Sharepoint. External systems (like BEA AquaLogic Portal, IBM WebSphere Portal, SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal etc.) can render data from Sharepoint through their WSRP consumer portlets. The toolkit is available for download from MSDN

SUGBG has been launched
Sharepoint User Group Bulgaria has been launched this evening! More than 60 persons gather together in hotel Vega for the Sahil Malik's presentation "Get Rich Quick! Creating Rich UIs in SharePoint". It was very interesting, with demonstrations how to host WCF service in Sharepoint and how to consume it from custom field control! The next SUGBG meeting was scheduled for 14 Jan 09.

Advanced Certification for Office Sharepoint Server 2007
Microsoft annonunced the Master certification program for MOSS 2007. Details are here:
Microsoft Certified Master: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
My opinion about the prerequisites is that they are very strange!?! Why is necessary to have an experience to SPS 2003 or MCMS 2002 if a man wants to be MCM for MOSS 2007?
Andrew Connell is involved as content owner and instructor for WCM.
Great news, congratulations!

SharePoint Guidance from Microsoft Patterns and Practices
I found this very useful guidance http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd203468.aspx , it helps architects and developers design, build, test, deploy and upgrade SharePoint intranet applications.

Sharepoint User Group Bulgaria - sugbg.org
The first Sharepoint User Group in Bulgaria is comming - SUGBG! The first meeting is scheduled for 26-th of November and the group's site is http://www.sugbg.org/
The first speaker will be Sahil Malik with his talk:
Get Rich Quick! Creating Rich UIs in SharePoint
Not your wallet silly! I am talking about creating Rich UIs. Writing rich UIs is becoming more and more necessary as users are beginning to expect and demand more out of new browsers, and powerful computers. So why should such innovation be limited in SharePoint? It isn't! But there are multiple ways to provide a rich user interface within SharePoint. In this session Sahil shows you a .NET 2.0 versus .NET 3.5 way of providing rich UIs, and compares the two and shows the specific pros and cons in a SharePoint light.
Come and listen, meet exiting and create new friends :-)

403 Forbidden or Access Denied message in Sharepoint 2007
I had very strange problems with Error 403 in MOSS 2007 application. I integrated the ascx controls in sharepoint aspx page. At first I added the MyControl.ascx and MyControl.ascx.cs files in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\CONTROLTEMPLATES" folder of all WFE servers and MyClassLib.dll in "bin" directory of the application. The aspx page (with master page) was created in Sharepoint designer 2007 and the control was registered with this line:
%@ Register Src="~/_controltemplates/SearchResult.ascx" TagName="SearchResult" TagPrefix="uc1" %
The interesting moment was, that the page wokred fine for administrative users, but for all other users error 403 appeared. The message in the event log was:
Load control template file /_controltemplates/MyControl.ascx failed: Could not load type 'MyControl'
The solution - I gave read permissions for EVERYONE for the bin folder. I used and filemon tool to catch ACCESS DENIED message for file open in the same folder. After this change all worked fine.
%@ Register Src="~/_controltemplates/SearchResult.ascx" TagName="SearchResult" TagPrefix="uc1" %
